Ten to midnight on the slot floor
The slot floor opens at 10 a.m. and closes at midnight, seven days a week, the whole year round. That is the same clock on a Monday in March as on a Saturday in July. Every time on this page is Ontario time.
Inside are 150 slot machines and nothing else to play: no live tables and no electronic tables at the track. The floor has a payout counter, so cashing out happens right there before you head back to the car.

The lounge calls it a night first
The Player's Lounge & Café sits on the slot floor and opens with the slots at 10 a.m. It closes earlier, though. From Monday to Thursday and on Sunday it shuts at 9 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m.
Because the slots run to midnight every night, the last two or three hours are slots without the kitchen or the bar. If dinner is part of the plan, keep the closing time in mind: the menu runs from breakfast through lunch to dinner. The lounge line is 705-940-0237.
Holidays mean a phone call
Holiday hours for the slots are not posted ahead of time. That leaves the usual 10 a.m. to midnight clock unconfirmed on those days. The slot line at 705-939-2400 can confirm them before you head out County Road 28. General questions for the track go to 705-939-6316.

Race season, no post times here
The racing runs on its own clock, and this site does not carry it. Live harness racing at Kawartha Downs is a summer season, from May to September. The race schedule is posted on the track's harness racing page at kawarthadowns.com, so look there before planning a race visit. Watching costs nothing, which suits you if you are out for the slots anyway and curious about the horses.
Fisher Drive table times
Kawartha Downs has no tables, so live games mean a trip to Shorelines Casino Peterborough at 3800 Fisher Drive, 7.7 km from the track in a straight line. Its live tables run Monday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight. On Friday and Saturday they open at noon and go until 2 a.m., and Sunday runs noon to midnight. Yes, the slot floor is open then. It runs 10 a.m. to midnight every day, Tuesday included. The Player's Lounge will have closed at 9 p.m., though.
Is the Player's Lounge still serving at 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday?
Yes, on Saturday the lounge stays open until 10 p.m. On a Sunday or on a weeknight from Monday to Thursday, it would already be closed, since those days end at 9 p.m.

On Friday the live tables at 3800 Fisher Drive run from noon to 2 a.m. That is two hours past the Kawartha Downs slot closing. Saturday keeps the same hours.
