Up the 401 from Toronto

Coming from Toronto, the track's directions are short and clear. Take Highway 401 east to exit 436, Highway 35/115. Then follow Highway 115 north and leave it at the County Road 28 exit.

This set is handy if you are coming along the 401 from the west. Toronto sits 100.7 km away in a straight line, Oshawa 51.3 km, Whitby 57.3 km and Bowmanville 40.7 km. Putting those towns on this route is the crew's own pairing by the side they lie on, not a road plan. A road always runs longer than a straight line, so no driving time is guessed here.

Highway 7 to Fowler's Corners

From the north and west, the track sends you along Highway 7 east of Lindsay as far as Fowler's Corners. There you take the ramp down and head south onto County Road 28. After that it is 15 km straight south.

Seen from the track, Lindsay, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon lie to the north-west and north. In straight lines, Lindsay is 32.2 km away, Bobcaygeon 38.7 km and Fenelon Falls 45.8 km. Matching those towns with this set is the crew's own convenience, based on the side they sit on. The road there will always be longer than those figures.

West on the 401 from Kingston

Coming from Kingston, take Highway 401 west. The track gives you two choices from there: County Road 28 north at Port Hope, or the next exit, Highway 115. Port Hope is where County Road 28 meets the 401, and the track's address sits on that same county road.

Kingston lies 152 km east of the track in a straight line. Belleville is 80.2 km, Brighton 55.2 km and Cobourg 32.8 km. Grouping them with this route is the crew's own pairing by side, and no driving time is guessed.

Exit 45 and the last 2 km

From the east, the track's directions take Highway 7 around Peterborough to exit 45 on Highway 115. That is the Port Hope exit, where 115 crosses County Road 28. The track sits about 2 km south of it.

Peterborough is 12.1 km from the track in a straight line, and Lakefield 25.6 km. Both lie to the north and north-east, so the crew pairs them with this set as its own convenience. A road is always longer than those figures.

Pulling in at the gate

The slots charge nothing for parking. Since 1382 County Road 28 has no published bus route, shuttle service or taxi stand, plan on driving. There is no hotel at Kawartha Downs, and the grounds are closed to camping. Campers are directed by the track's FAQ to Omemee's Emily Provincial Park, Bailey's Bay in Selwyn, and Kawartha Trails Resort and Beavermead Park in Peterborough.

A person with a disability is welcome to bring a support person. Service animals are the only animals permitted at the races, and because of the horses they remain inside the building. The track's contact page also includes a map to help locate the property. The track has published a multi-year accessibility plan as well as an accessibility policy.

  • Parking costs nothing
  • Bus or shuttle none published, so it is a drive
  • Camping not on the grounds
  • Dogs on race nights service animals only, and indoors

Side note

All four sets of directions finish on County Road 28, so it helps to know the number 1382 before you set out. The full address is 1382 County Road 28, Fraserville, ON K0L 1V0.
